Family Fun

In today's economy it's hard to find something fun to do with your kids. Just taking them to the movies costs $8 per person and then add popcorn and drinks on top of that and you've spent $50! I don't know about you, but we don't have that kind of money. Do things that are free like read a book, go for a walk, play at the park, go to the library, or play a board game.

Here are some ideas that I came up with to make everyday fun and frugal!

Monopoly Monday: Make Monday nights board game night. After supper get the games out and get on the floor with your kids. They will love it and so will you!

Trip Tuesday: Take a trip to your local Library to check out books or movies for free. If it's nice out, pack a lunch and go to the park.

Wacky Wednesday: Let your kids mix and match their clothes and give them wacky hair. My daughter loves to where her hot pink scarf and high heels with her t-shirt and shorts. My son likes when I put his hair in a mowhawk. Not only are they having fun, but they get to use their creativity.

Television Thursday: Let this be the day of the week that your kids have control over the TV...as long as they are watching educational shows and learning something, I think that it is totally fine to give them control for one day...

Family Fun Friday: On Friday nights we like to take the kids to the video store to pick out free kids movies. We come home, put the couches together to make a "bed", pop some popcorn and relax. This is the day of the week they look forward to most!

Slumber Party Saturday: Let your kids have a slumber party in one of their bedrooms. Blow up the air mattress or put up a tent in the back yard, pack some snacks, books and flash lights and let them have fun!

Silly Supper Sunday: Let your kids decide whats for dinner. It will let them feel important because they get to make a "big" decision and they get to be creative. Maybe they will pick green eggs and ham, banana dogs or cereal! Whatever it is, it will be fun for them and probably easy for you!

Use your imagination! It's the most fun you'll have with your kids!

John 3:16-17

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
